Vangvieng is a district (muang) in Vientiane Province of Laos with a population of about 25,000 people. It has a long, unused airport runway, lying parallel to the Nam Song River. This airport is used for the Air Nationalist Aircraft in Vietnam. The main highway from Luangprabang to Vientiane. This district has been developing since the 1980s as the number of domestic and foreign tourists has increased. Vang Vieng now has a hotel, restaurant, travel agency service for tourists. Vang Vieng is located on Highway 13 between Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Vientiane to Vang Vieng by bus takes 3-4 hours and 6-8 hours from Vang Vieng to Luong Prabang.
