
Vangvieng is a district (muang) in Vientiane Province of Laos with a population of about 25,000 people. It has a long, unused airport runway, lying parallel to the Nam Song River. This airport is used for the Air Nationalist Aircraft in Vietnam. The main highway from Luangprabang to Vientiane. This district has been developing since the 1980s as the number of domestic and foreign tourists has increased. Vang Vieng now has a hotel, restaurant, travel agency service for tourists. Vangvieng market sells bat, squirrel and monkey meat. In the center of the district there is a temple.
